KRUWODO is currently implementing a project titled “Advancing women’s climate Justice solutions in Agriculture in the Mityana District with funding from Global Fund for women. KRUWODO’s focus is to address challenges of low agricultural productivity, high levels of food security and low income in both rural and urban poor communities in addition to protecting against rapid degradation of natural resources on which community livelihood depends.
To ensure the project effectively reaches the communities and small-scale women farmers, KRUWODO works through farmer groups, women groups at the grassroots, and schools in implementing the project. In implementation, KRUWODO applies different strategies including partnerships, community owned structures, incentive systems, knowledge management systems and documentation and information dissemination through radio for strengthening awareness among wider stakeholders on adaptation actions for climate smart interventions, climate change impacts on food security and natural resources in the District.
